Kansas City, MO

CONFERENCE OBJECTIVES

The National Title X Reproductive Health Conference is designed for advanced practice nurses, physicians, physician assistants, registered nurses, counselors, educators and all other personnel who interact with clients in health centers providing family planning and reproductive health care services.

National experts will share evidence-based information, best practices for emerging issues, strategies to address population-specific challenges and build clinical skills to improve the quality of patient care. Conference objectives include:

  • Describe current scientific evidence and nationally recognized standards of quality improvement for common and complex issues (e.g., obesity, substance use and other risk and disease screening, contraceptive counseling and medical management of common reproductive and non-reproductive health care issues, including STIs and vaginitis, breast disease, perimenopause, abnormal uterine bleeding, opioid use and misuse and more).
  • Identify strategies for enhancing the efficient delivery of a variety of contraceptive, family planning, reproductive health and health education services for diverse clients, appropriately incorporating guidance from the Recommendations for Providing Quality Family Planning Services, U.S. Medical Eligibility Criteria and U.S. Selected Practice Recommendations for Contraceptive Use.
  • Implement evidence-based recommendations for safe pre-and inter-conception care, including HIV pre-exposure prophylaxis, substance use brief intervention and referral to treatment as well as folate supplementation, immunizations and other best practices.
  • Recognize the ways in which the constructs of social determinants of health and health equity impact people of reproductive age obtaining services in Title X settings.
